…Well kinda if you live in Georgia :o)But seriously, make sure Home Maintenance is on your to-do list. Whether buying or selling a home, a home inspection will be conducted. There are several recurrent items I see come up on inspection reports that can be prevented or eliminated with periodic maintenance (i.e. – full gutters, wood rot, deteriorating decks, etc).

*TIP (add to the list below) – Have your HVAC systems serviced. Having them serviced in the Spring and Winter  (when the seasons change) will help your systems last longer and perform better.

While in this market, in most cases, it is cheaper to buy than to rent, ultimately it depends on your situation and objectives.

I first suggest looking into buying and getting Pre-Approved for a mortgage. If you are not able to get pre-approved or you’re not ready to commit right now, there are 2 companies that offer something similar to a lease purchase, but the terms are better and new construction is an option! Call or email me for information on them. Outside of these, I recommend a standard 12 month lease.
